Continuo sem grande tempo para ler mais do que os apontamentos de Farmacologia. Aproveito as pausas para ver séries ou filmes. Desta vez escolhi o filme do escritor e realizador Stephen Chbosky, “The Perks of being a Wallflower”.
Baseado no livro homónimo, escrito pelo próprio realizador, conta-nos as aventuras de Charlie, um rapaz tímido que tenta recomeçar do zero, no seu primeiro ano de liceu.
Atirei-me de cabeça para o filme, não fazia ideia sobre o que tratava. Não li o livro (apesar de agora querer mesmo lê-lo) e por isso foi uma agradável surpresa para mim. Achei que seria apenas mais um filme sobre adolescentes e o liceu americano. Cedo descobri que estava enganada.
Foi um filme do qual gostei bastante, não apenas por causa da história e da mensagem escrita nas entrelinhas do enredo, mas também porque foi interessante ver a Emma Watson como uma personagem que não fosse a Hermione do Harry Potter. Fiquei muito feliz por saber que esta é uma rapariga que tem asas para voar sem a sombra do papel que desempenhou durante toda a sua infância-adolescência.

I haven't had time to read more than the notes of Pharmacology. I only take breaks to watch movies or series. This time I chose the film from the writer and director Stephen Chbosky's, "The Perks of being a Wallflower."
Based on the book of the same name, written by the director himself, tells the adventures of Charlie, a shy boy who tries to start from scratch in his first year of high school.
I threw myself into to the movie, I had no idea what was about. I didn't read the book (though now I want to) and so it was a pleasant surprise for me. I thought it was going to be just another american movie about teenagers and high school. I soon found out that I was wrong.
It was a movie that I liked a lot, not only because of the story and the message written between the lines of the plot, but also because it was interesting to see Emma Watson as a character that was no her usual Hermione from Harry Potter. I was very happy to know that this is a girl who has wings to fly without the shadow of the role she played throughout her childhood-adolescence.
